First try washing again in warm water with some at least a couple of cups in a washer set to use less water on a smaller load cider vinegar or white vinegar it helps get the stain out and the smell goes away quickly once the garment is dry. Start by mixing 1 cup of vinegar into 1 quart of water in a sink or laundry tub.
Add 1 cup of vinegar to the bucket of water and let the clothes soak in it for 15 minutes.
